ABOUT THE ARTIST: Tracey Jacobson
Hello, I'm Tracey Jacobsen, a Texan artist with Dutch roots, driven by a deep passion for art. My journey into art began with a fascination for the challenges faced by artists, including a famous Dutch painter who famously lost an ear. However, I decided not to pursue art initially due to the stereotype of the "starving artist." Instead, I embarked on a career in dentistry, which eventually led me to retirement and back to my true calling – art. I'm determined not to be a starving artist, though shedding a few extra pounds wouldn't hurt, because I absolutely love what I do, and I'm grateful to have both my ears intact. In my artistic pursuits, I explore various mediums like oils, acrylics, fabrics, and wax, working on diverse surfaces such as canvas, linen, boards, and plexiglass. I believe that using different mediums allows me to fully express each unique idea that springs to life in its own distinctive style.
